So, what exactly is Facets?

I created Facets as a way to bring attention to African-American artists and their work. I figured one of the best, most engaging ways to do this would be to compile images, stories, interviews, and other content in a virtual format - in this case, an online journal.

Sounds cool! When/how often will it be available?

I am planning on releasing quarterly issues of Facets, beginning in the fall of 2019.

Why are you waiting so long to release the first issue?

Although I have had the help and input of several wonderful people, currently Facets is a one-woman production. This is a project that I’m super passionate about, and I want it to be something that I will be proud of. In addition, I want readers to get the most they possibly can out of Facets. So, I have decided to take my time researching, interviewing, and collecting stories that I think others will enjoy. My hope is to assemble a body of work of the highest quality, both for my sake and for the sake of my readers.

So I really have to wait until next fall for all this awesome content?

No you don’t! Beginning in January, I will be sending exclusive artist interviews to everyone who supports me on Patreon. So, if you support Facets with a donation of any amount (even as little as $1/month), every month you will receive an exclusive interview with an Artist of the Month.

I would love to be a part of this project! How can I help?

For starters, you can follow Facets on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. And if you think you know someone who would enjoy the content of Facets, feel free to give us a shoutout on social media!

Additionally, if you would like to help fund the production or marketing of Facets, you can do so through our Patreon page. Donations of as little as $1/month are gladly welcomed, and you would also be given access to exclusive content (see last question).

I’m a Black artist and I would love to be featured! How can I make that happen?
